Subcontractor / Owner-Operator Program

Heavy Hitter Transport LLC works with vetted independent tractor-trailer and box truck operators to run assigned jobs under the company. This is a separate program from customer quoting — built for licensed, insured carriers and operators, not for customers requesting a delivery.
Box Truck — 22' to 35'
Local and regional box truck assignments. New York City limits single-unit trucks (like a box truck) to a maximum of 35 feet overall; larger equipment requires an over-dimensional permit and is reviewed case by case.
Tractor-Trailer — Up To 55'
Tractor-trailer combinations for larger loads and longer runs. Interstate (out-of-state) assignments require active MC operating authority.
Coverage Area
NYC's five boroughs and the tri-state area (NY / NJ / CT) for local and regional assignments. Operators with active MC authority are eligible for out-of-state runs.
How Pay Works
Every assignment comes with a defined scope before you accept it — hours covered, miles included, number of stops, waiting/detention time, who provides the trailer or equipment, and who's responsible for fuel. The rate offered is set by Heavy Hitter for that specific job, based on the lane, distance, freight demand, and day-of conditions — it's the rate we're offering for that assignment, not a fixed public number.
Out-of-state assignments (MC required) are paid as a base rate plus mileage, fuel, and tolls, confirmed per assignment once your MC number and insurance are verified.
How Tolls Are Handled
Heavy Hitter tells you upfront which method applies to your specific assignment:
- Company E-ZPass — a company transponder is provided; tolls bill directly to Heavy Hitter.
- Your E-ZPass, reimbursed — you run your own transponder and submit your statement with the job for reimbursement on payout.
- Flat toll allowance — for a known, predictable lane, a toll estimate is built into the rate.
- Reimbursed at cost — for a variable or one-off lane, submit toll receipts for reimbursement.
Requirements
- Valid CDL where required for the vehicle and operation
- Current commercial insurance on your own equipment
- Active MC operating authority number for any out-of-state assignment
- Each assignment specifies which carrier's operating authority and insurance covers that haul
- Own pallet jack, hand truck, and load straps — required gear on every job

It depends on load size, location and time. A full truckload picked up and delivered entirely within New York City is a flat $850 (up to 4 hours, up to 40 miles). A smaller partial load is a flat $450 (up to 2 hours, up to 20 miles). Dedicated local delivery, pallet/dock runs, labor-assist freight, and truck-and-driver-only hire are priced separately per the published rate card. Extra time, extra mileage, extra stops and waiting time beyond the included amounts are billed per that rate card.
